What is a multi-family garage sale?
Also called: multi-family yard sale, multiple family sale, group garage sale · Used in United States and Canada
A multi-family garage sale is when two or more households pool their items at one driveway, yard or block for the same sale. Each family usually prices its own goods, and shoppers get several homes' worth of goods in one stop.

What it actually means in practice
For shoppers, these sales are worth driving a little farther for. Arrive early, before the best pieces go, and ask at the start whether each family takes payment separately so you are not stuck at one table with the wrong cash app.
For sellers, color-coded price tags or initials on stickers plus a simple tally sheet keep the money fair when one buyer pays for items from two families. It is not the same as a community sale: that spreads many houses across a neighbourhood on one weekend, while a multi-family sale concentrates several households at one address.
